Welcome Bill Pratt, Process Piping General Manager

Unmatched Experience. Invaluable Impact.

It’s with great pleasure that we welcome Bill Pratt, Process Piping General Manager, to the Grae-Con family. With his 35-years in the construction industry in varying roles and industries, Bill brings irreplicable experience to our team and our clients.
Starting as an underwater welder in college, Bill spent more than three decades earning his way through promotions and into management roles both on- and off-site. His passion for ensuring projects being successful and accomplished safely continues to be his ultimate motivator. It’s this passion that helps him deliver countless projects that exceed client expectations.

A Team Mindset Leads to the Ultimate Successes

Over the last 35 years, Bill has worked in nearly every aspect of construction:

  • Power plants
  • Nuclear power plants
  • Civil work
  • Structural steel
  • Piping
  • Instrumentation
  • Start-up
  • Estimating

He especially draws on his time as a field work construction manager where he managed up to 6,000 employees at a time. Working directly with crew members on job sites gives Bill unique insights into what plans will work best for specific projects.

But Bill doesn’t rely on his insight alone. He believes the only way to excel in the construction industry is with high-functioning teamwork.

  • "With everyone around you on a project, you could have a combined total of 600 years of experience. And each person has seen a way to do something. The best final ideas come from those voices.” – Bill Pratt

Planning with a Purpose

Bill creates project plans with intention and purpose. He assesses all aspects and potential challenges so he can prep for success by scheduling the appropriate superintendents, manpower, tools, materials, and equipment at the site.
The attention to detail and action-based planning Bill brings to Grae-Con’s projects puts us on a path for consistently successful piping projects. After less than a month of being on our team, Bill’s dedication to processes is already positively impacting clients:

  • Overseeing operations in Grae-Con’s 35,000 square foot fabrication facility
  • Coordinating between the facility and job site to maintain synchronized schedules
  • Planning operations for process piping projects
  • Estimating project needs to ensure everything is covered
  • Saving clients’ money by planning projects from start to finish
  • Improving operations by evaluating current procedures and updating them based on his vast experience

  • “I like organizing and thinking into every little corner of a project prior to executing any work. Laying out a project from start to end and making sure everyone has what they need, and then seeing it all incorporated into a successfully competed project makes me feel proud.”
