Grae-Con Takes on $12M STEM Building Project in Heart of Steubenville
Posted on December 14, 2021 in News
We’re proud to announce Grae-Con’s official involvement in the Steubenville City Schools (SCS) STEM building expansion. Estimated to break ground in March 2022, we’ll work as the Construction Manager at Risk for this $12M project.
The 34,000 square foot state-of-the-art learning facility will span across multiple parcels, giving the downtown area an architectural facelift. This type of fully equipped learning center involves many intricate details, including:
- Greenhouse
- Upgraded water and sewer lines
- Catwalk connecting STEM building and high school
- Terracotta rainscreen
- Insulated metal panels
- Perforated metal panels
- Designated areas for field equipment, including flight simulators, logistic simulators, and health informatics technology
Endless Opportunities on the Horizon for Steubenville City Students
Beyond the building, Grae-Con is excited to be part of this historical moment in Steubenville. The addition will be lifechanging for SCS students and, in turn, the entire community.
Steubenville High School officials believe the building will give students opportunities they can’t get anywhere else. Those graduating from the STEM program will have a two-year degree and opportunities to enter into higher-paying careers, keeping them in the Steubenville area.
“Grae-Con is thrilled to participate as the Construction Manager at Risk for the STEM building expansion,” said Rob Gribben, Vice President of Grae-Con. “We’ve previously completed projects for Steubenville City Schools and enjoy working for them. Now, we look forward to assisting in the improvement of curriculum and the appearance of downtown.”
